Microservices - everybody gets one

You get a microservice, and you get a microservice, and everybody gets a microservice! It’s like Oprah is given them away for free - that is the feeling I have when somebody is talking about them. They are free, fabulous and everybody should have at least one.

MapDB - collections backed by off-heap or on-disk storage

I came across MapDB recently and I have to share my find with the world. I like to consider my self as well informed about frameworks, tools and everything related with Java, but this little gem just slipped under my radar.

Distributed locks

Recently at my work I came across the need for distributed locks, so I did some investigation and a small prototype to check how it can be done. Here you can see my findings so perhaps I will save somebody some time if they are ever in the same situation as me.

Spring boot microservice demo app

In this post I will cover the spring boot microservice that I built. Microservice has a Rest endpoint for flights and also provides receiving flight objects (the same ones that are exposed via Rest WS) via JMS queue - in this case ActiveMQ.
